In the Alignment group, select the Wrap Text option in the ribbon. Place your cursor at the location where you want the line to break. Select the cell that has the text to wrap and then click on the Home tab. However, there may be times when word wrapping is not. ![]() To insert a manual line break, execute the following steps.Ģ. Since Excel allows word wrapping in a cell, you can easily type a paragraph or more into a single cell. On the Home tab, in the Alignment group, click Top Align. ![]() For example, if you’re using the shortcut ALT + H + O + I, press the ALT key, then the H key, and so on (in succession). Right click the cell, choose Format Cell, Alignment, choose Center, Top, Bottom Distributed, etc, check or tick Wrap Text. Use the keyboard shortcut with keys in succession.
